30.1

Minutes:

The Committee considered a report by the Town Clerk and Central Services Officer. 

 

The Town Clerk informed the Committee that two extra items would be added to the Agenda for the meeting in March; these were:

 

a)    Harpenden in Bloom Competitions; and

b)    Earmarked Reserves – Chipper and Future Vehicle Requirements. The equipment and vehicles would contribute towards the Council’s management of green waste.

 

The Committee RESOLVED to:

 

(i)           Note and approve the Forward Planner attached at Appendix A (with the addition of the March meeting items outlined above);

(ii)         Note the Resolution Tracker attached at Appendix B and approve the removal of those resolutions marked complete.

(i)           Approve the next phase of pathway improvements around the Common as set out in Appendix B.

(ii)          Release earmarked reserves to the value of £14,000 to carry out the works in the next 12 months.

(iii)        Approve the proposed tree works outlined in Appendix C.

The Committee considered a report by the Commons and Greens Officer and the Projects and Community Manager.  The Town Clerk informed the Committee that a more detailed report would be brought back to the March meeting which would include specific costs, tree numbers and tree sizes.

 

The Committee RESOLVED to:

 

(i)           Note the progress made in identifying sites for tree planting set out in Appendices A to D and agree for this to be further considered at the next meeting.

(ii)          Approve the principle of delivering a mixed approach to carbon capture by carrying out tree planting and natural woodland regeneration as set out in Section 4

(iii)        Approve the production of a draft ‘residents’ guide to tree planting’ to be considered at the next meeting as set out in paragraph 4.6.
